San Juan Mountain Guides offers personalized, professional instruction and guiding in ice climbing, rock climbing, backcountry skiing and avalanche training, alpine mountaineering, guided hikes and international expeditions. San Juan Mountain Guides is dedicated to offering professional instruction and guiding that will contribute to a lifetime of safe and successful climbing. SJMG’s guides not only help you get to the top of your next big climb, they also share their methods and decision making processes so you can benefit from their years of experience.
SJMG’s school is based in the picturesque town Ouray, Colorado located in the heart of the San Juan Mountains of Southwest Colorado. Both open registration courses and custom programs designed to fit individual goals are offered. Custom programs allows SJMG the flexibility to structure the curriculum to meet each person or self-organized group's specific needs and objectives. Either way, your outdoor experience will be not only instructional, but also personalized and fun.
San Juan Mountain Guides also offers a variety of extended trips in exotic destinations, including the Alaska Range, Canadian Rockies and European Alps. Like their other programs, these expeditions focus on personalized itineraries customized for your goals and schedule. A select number of trips led by senior guides to the places they know the best are available each year.

Reservation Policy
A deposit equal to 50% of your total reservation amount is required at time of booking. This deposit amount applies to bookings with advance notice of at least 15 days. A deposit equal to 100% of your total reservation amount is required at the time of booking with advance notice of less than 15 days.
Cancellation Policy
Cancellation of your reservation with 14 days or less notice before your start date results in forfeiture of the entire tuition amount. Any changes or adjustments to your reservation that do not include a cancellation will be discussed on a case-by-case basis. San Juan Mountain Guides will do their very best to accommodate alterations to reservations, but offers no guarantees.
