Overview
A Dolomite Mountain Adventure Dolomite Adventure Tours Italy's mission is to provide clientele with a world-class climbing (via ferrata) and hiking experience in the Dolomite Mountains of Cortina, Italy.
Their secondary mission is to provide clientele with any small group activities which are consistent with the high alpine environment of Cortina.
The owner of Dolomite Adventure Tours Italy has lived in Italy for over 20 years, from 1971 to 1992. Part of that time he was in the U.S. Air Force, stationed at Aviano Air Base. Leaving the military in January 1979, he was employed as a civilian and worked on the air base as a theater supervisor. In January 1985, he and his wife opened a fast food restaurant near the Air Force Base. This was the very first fast food drive-thru in Italy. Another activity that he is proud of is his participation in the 1989 and 1990 marathons in Venice.
Most of his free time was spent in the Dolomite Mountains. He has tried his hand at free climbing as well as climbing (via ferrata) and hiking many long mountain trails. He returned to the United States in 1992 and in 1999 went back to the Dolomite Mountains in Cortina, Italy. With years of mountaineering and the knowledge gained, as well as a love of the Dolomite Mountains, he conceived the idea of sharing them with other people who also love mountains and adventure.
This is an escorted tour with a group of three to eight people. On the via ferrata climbs, there will be local and professional alpine guides from Cortina, and also guides on the hiking tours. At Dolomite Adventure Tours Italy, they will never forget that this is your adventure vacation. They are one of a kind, combining a mountain adventure with day trips to a glacier in Austria and Venice. The purpose of the various types of activity is to allow rest time from the physical endurance needed to climb (via ferrata) and long hikes.
Dolomite Adventure Tours Italy will be with you every day of your adventure in Italy and Austria. They will be filming your unique adventure each day with a digital movie camera. This will make sure that you will always have a way to remember your awesome days in the Dolomites in Cortina, Italy. You will receive a video film of your experiences. The most memorable experiences will be hanging off the side of the mountains while attached to wire ropes, walking across small wooden and cable bridges.
