Overview
Andean Trails is a specialist tour operator offering moderate to challenging small-group trekking, mountaineering expeditions, mountain biking and jungle tours in the South American Andes and Amazon.
Through fixed departures, as well as individually created tailor made itineraries, Andean Trails aims to discover the spectacular wilderness areas, fascinating native cultures and diverse wildlife of this spellbinding continent.
Andean Trails is governed by a commitment to sensitive travel. Their philosophy means keeping groups small and working as much as possible with locally owned businesses and fairly paid local staff to inject vital funds into the local economy.
Respect for local people and the environment they live in is at the heart of everything Andean Trails does. They ensure clients have opportunities to meet and talk to local people, soak up the atmosphere of villages and markets, and learn about the vibrant culture of their hosts. Andean Trails is committed to doing all they can to help communities thrive in all the countries they operate in.
The culture and rich heritage of the peoples of the countries Andean Trails works in are integral to their irresistible appeal. Promoting responsible travel and environmental awareness in Ecuador, Peru, Chile, Argentina, Bolivia, Guyana and Cuba is a key part of helping these fascinating countries develop in a positive and sustainable way.
Small Groups Andean Trails is in favor of responsible tourism. By limiting the size of groups, Andean Trails aims to minimize environmental impact and achieve greater flexibility. The normal group-size is between six and 12, plus a leader. The typical age range is 25-55 with similar ratios of couples and singles, males and females. You will find yourself traveling with like-minded people - experienced trekkers, mountain bikers and climbers, as well as relative novices.
